As I sat down listening to the lady playing hymns on a piano, I heard someone with a powerful gift on the keys. The old hymns were being heard by Abba.
I was a visitor to the church group and soon after the church leaders asked us to do a meet & greet of everyone present. I made the rounds and greeted the piano player.
She was dressed in dress and had a tatoo on the back. I realized upon closer observation that the piano player was in fact a man. Nothing shocking really in 2017.
When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
I saw someone in process developing! This person was playing hymns before God all mighty and still in development as a believer.
At first one can say—-Repent! Your a man; so dress like one. As a new visitor to the group suddenly the Holy Spirit said … I sent you to the sick not healthy.
Later during the course of service, the piano player stated they had to leave early. I would not have a chance to speak direct. Later I decided to pray. I was new to this group. God knows and will show me my purpose in coming.
As with adultery, hate, envy, masturbation, theft… homosexuality is a sin before the Son of God Jesus. Sin separates us before God. It grieves the Holy Spirit and we must become new creatures in Christ.
It is sad however that many in the church view homosexuality as a greater sin than others. I know many church leaders who struggle with pornography as I have. If one falls into a sinful habit we must stop and repent. 1 John 1:9 is the believers reminder of this. It of course applies to homosexual habits.
I don’t know the full picture on the piano player yet…whether they are a believer in the Messiah or a new one. Perhaps just a piano player that was paid to play! Time may reveal this if I get to meet this precious soul before God.
All I can say is that I have known many people who have lived in a homosexual or lesbian relationship; before & after I became born again. In fact when I lived in B.C., I had a roommate that struggled with homosexuality. He believed in Jesus and joined YWAM as missionary. He travelled abroad and shared the Good News of the Gospel until he slipped in sin and fell back in the old ways of homosexuality.
YWAM sent him back home and he took time with Second Chance Ministries to heal of the habit. 2nd Chance meetings were powerful. I went to hear some of the testimonies of men and women overcoming homosexuality in pursuit of serving Jesus. I poured out tears hearing various tales of their childhood battles, parental dealings and their later experiences.
IN PROCESS- OUR JOURNEY
We all can slide into a sinful habit if we are not careful. When we do…let’s do what the Holy Spirit says and repent. It may be we have a constant bad habit that needs to be carefully chiseled out of our soul. Pray for wisdom. Ask & seek help if necessary. Perhaps self control is simply the best answer. Christ can help us overcome anything!
2 Corinthians 5:17-19
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Let us help people in their development process of becoming new creations in Jesus- the Son of God. Let us judge the process prematurely. The Son will help us with our sins so we can become holy before God.
