The Formula?

I was listening to a popular preacher this morning while I was heading to work downtown. He was describing the common tale that many believers of Jesus lack the attributes of their master that they follow. As a result, many ‘unbelievers’ people say the church does not represent the teachings of Jesus well.

I certainly agree to an extent.

Clearly I have done at times a miserable job at being ‘Christlike’. But thank God for mercy and grace once we ask for forgiveness and repent. We can be all be restored because Jesus teaches this to mankind.

But what if we do not repent?

Revelation 22:12
New King James Version (NKJV)
Jesus Testifies to the Churches
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

Well, the Lord will try to reach us and get us back on course. The Spirit will try to lead us back to the ‘first love. If we do not take the lead, we will stand before God with a mess to explain about. Simple …no?

2 Peter 2:9
New King James Version (NKJV)
…then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

Revelation 3:22
New King James Version (NKJV)
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’”

Many ‘in’ the church leave the Sunday service or whatever the day of the meeting and go lead a normal heathen life. Sad but true. But I say to the non-believer, don’t use the so called ‘church’ people as an excuse to deny Jesus for yourself.

Why?

You will be judged for your viewpoint, not the viewpoint what others believe!

Jesus is returning and will judge all humans at the day of Judgement! ME, you, the preacher down the street, the president, the actors, etc; The question He will ask is, “Do you believe in me and keep my commandments?”

Will we be ready to answer yes or no?

Ah..You see we cannot blame anyone for our coldness to the Christ saviour. He wants a relationship with us. Do we want a relationship with Him?

The Bible says the church ‘people’ will be judged for their livestyle as will the people in the world outside the church. The question I want all of us to contemplate is what are we bringing to the banquet table when Jesus returns.

Jude 1:14-15
New King James Version (NKJV)
….Behold the Lord comes we ten thousand of His saints to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”

The formula is maybe…? Did we try to understand, read the word of God often and believe? Did we try to discern the apostles doctrine to the best of our understanding and follow what Apostle Paul describes as the Way or Apostles’s Doctrine?

Matthew 24:10-12
New King James Version (NKJV)
And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

Love keeps Our hearts Warm!

The Church worldwide has been going through reformations and debates on the meaning of God’s word since the beginning of it’s inception. It still is! I visit some church groups and shake my head at the coldness of hearts as times. Some fellowships I have visited represent Jesus very fine at times too….thank you.

The point is…we are all looking at finding the perfect formula for walking in the faith and trueness of Jesus’s teaching. The answer I believe lays in following ..the apostle’s doctrine and keeping locked into our relationship with Jesus and His Holy Spirit.

Bye and Blessings.

Acts 2:42
New King James Version (NKJV)
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers
