“Moving with God”

Outdoor Meeting

I am getting ready to ‘skype’ a teaching session to an entire church group in Pakistan and asked the Lord….”What should I share with them?” I then got a download from the Holy Spirit during a walk along a creek near our home with my dog. He told me to title it…”Moving with God…..! We are to come to Him like little children right?”

Romans 1:18-32; Jeremiah 10 our my reading passages.  Full passages are at bottom of article.

If we ain’t moving ‘with’ the God of the universe and His son Jesus, we are headed to disaster. Look at Jeremiah in the Bible. He was trying to steer his homeland in the ways of the Lord and was severely punished for it. Most people of the day thought, he was nuts and was a liar for Egypt and Babylon. They knew he was a prophet, but the King and leaders of Israel were against his words and ideals. They were not listening to the God of Israel but wanted to do ‘what’ they wanted to do. They moved out the ‘will’ of God and later died for it. There life was a complete disaster! What a shame. Babylon came and sacked Israel and they were crunched in the process…read about Jeremiah and find out what happened.

Now, look at today…and at the early church that was starting to grow after Jesus died and rose again. Apostle Paul and the others were trying to tell everybody to ‘move’ with God. Some listened and some others did not….

Romans 1:22-27

22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

The author of Romans many believe was Paul and he had a scribe named Tertius to transcribe his words. Paul warned everybody back them and TODAY….don’t become a fool…basically …follow Christ or you will suffer,,,,let’s read….

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

By living an ungodly life, we will be unhappy and not truly benefit in any form. Paul is warning all of us. I can speak for myself. Before I was a believer of Jesus, I really had no hope but getting drunk a lot, getting high on dope, and rockin out in music with my girlfriend. I was constantly distrustful of my friends and really had no hope in anybody or anything. Life was dark and getting darker every minute until around the time I reached 27 years old; I was thinking suicide.

Soon, I cried out to any God that I thought that may exist. He sent people my way and evidently, I heard and understood the gospel message of Jesus. It was a miracle! Jesus is meriful and real love.

Paul in Romans warns us today…..basically move with God and you will not die and miss out on heaven!

Love and Blessings,

Romans 1:18-32

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,[c] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,[d] unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

 Jeremiah 10

Idols and the True God

10 Hear the word which the Lord speaks to you, O house of Israel.

Thus says the Lord:

“Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, For the Gentiles are dismayed at them. For the customs of the peoples are futile; For one cuts a tree from the forest, The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They decorate it with silver and gold; They fasten it with nails and hammers So that it will not topple. They are upright, like a palm tree, And they cannot speak; They must be carried, Because they cannot go by themselves. Do not be afraid of them, For they cannot do evil, Nor can they do any good.”

Inasmuch as there is none like You, O Lord (You are great, and Your name is great in might), Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? For this is Your rightful due. For among all the wise men of the nations, And in all their kingdoms, There is none like You. But they are altogether dull-hearted and foolish; A wooden idol is a worthless doctrine. Silver is beaten into plates; It is brought from Tarshish, And gold from Uphaz, The work of the craftsman And of the hands of the metalsmith; Blue and purple are their clothing; They are all the work of skillful men. 10 But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

11 Thus you shall say to them: “The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.”

12 He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, And has stretched out the heavens at His discretion. 13 When He utters His voice, There is a multitude of waters in the heavens: “And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”[a]

14 Everyone is dull-hearted, without knowledge; Every metalsmith is put to shame by an image; For his molded image is falsehood, And there is no breath in them. 15 They are futile, a work of errors; In the time of their punishment they shall perish. 16 The Portion of Jacob is not like them, For He is the Maker of all things, And Israel is the tribe of His inheritance; The Lord of hosts is His name.
